Before You Open The File.
Do we need to learn rules first?
No rulebook, and nobody reads ahead. Every case opens with a read-this-first page that tells the table where to begin, and everyone works the same evidence together.
What if we get stuck?
The folders overlap on purpose, so a dead end in one usually opens from another. Read the exhibit that names the thing you are missing again. The QR seals take a wrong answer without penalty, so you can try once more when the table is ready.
How many can play?
Every file wants at least two heads on it. Case Nº 001 seats two to six, Nº 002 and Nº 003 take up to eight, and Nº 004 keeps its table tight at two to four. Nobody sits the evening out.
How much reading is it?
The evening is reading, in the way a thriller is: statements, letters, registers and photographs, passed around the table and argued over rather than studied alone. Nothing runs on a timer, so you can pause mid-case, keep the sealed folders sealed, and pick it back up another night.
Is it replayable?
One evening, one answer. Once your table knows the truth it stays known, so hand the case to a table that does not. Nothing in the box stops working after the reveal.
Do we need an app or an account?
No app, no account, no host. Some exhibits are audio and video held behind QR seals, and one phone camera between you opens them. Everything else is paper on the table.
Is it scary?
Crime, not horror. Nothing jumps out and nothing on the table is graphic; the weight sits in the paperwork. Every case carries a 12+ recommendation.
When does it ship?
